Beast of the Day

Sir Pavel of Newsbury Sound has won over many fans during the Regoinal Tournament..

Sports News

New Knight Crowd Favorite

The raucous crowds have a new favorite this year. Recently knighted Sir Pavel of Newsbury has won his first three matches and will most likely break into the rankings with another win. With several notable nobles missing from this year competition due to the looming war with Xathor, Sir Pavel might not be a bad bet to win the entire tourney. Local odds makers have him at 4-1 but a win in the forth round could drop those odds even further.

In Other News

Some observers are saying that the glut of entrants at this years regional tournament may be the work of Xathor. Almost one third of the knights entered this year are from boarder towns that have never sent knights to compete before. With the threat of invasion very real, one has to wonder how these knights have the time to compete when fortifications along the Wall of the Dead are going up almost daily.

Baron Gallimore of Giant Coast was called home during the third round of the Geyser Regional Tournament. It was assumed that his recall had to do with the news of Xathor's army marching into the Northlands and threatening Giant Coast. This could lead to a shakeup in the current rankings as Baron Gallimore will have to forfeit his remaining matches.

Informants in the north report that citizens of Xathor have come up with a new game involving two teams kicking the recently decapitated head of a peasant around a courtyard. The game ends when one team kicks the head through a gate at the far end of the courtyard. This game has not been seen in the Free Kingdoms and many nobles call it barbaric.

Swimming competitions have been postponed until a large Aboleth roaming the inner harbor is caught. It is possible that the four swimmers who did not complete the harbor swim two weeks ago were the unfortunate victims of the hungry creature. Please obey the no swimming signs until the city guard removes them.

Polo Injuries on the Rise

Some councilmen are suggesting that next month's polo matches be held under the supervision of clerics of Philgore. Many riders have been hesitant to agree to this on the basis of religious differences.

Owners of Moresan Commons in the high quarter will begin charging nobles for practice time before jousting matches.

Guelph?

A new sport called Guelph is gaining popularity in the Half-Lands. It involves hitting a ball with a stick into a hole from a distance. Experts doubt the game will catch on.

Help Wanted
Want to travel the world? Many nobles are hiring stableboys and coachmen to assist them in getting from tournament to tournament.

Sir Frederick of Trines arrived in Geyser late yesterday, too late for the original start of the tournament. Some are questioning if some of Trines clerics may have helped delay the competition by praying for inclement weather.

Noble of the Week

Duke Ergink of Kole has been making the tournament rounds for the past six years. Once considered the best jouster in all of Aram, time and injury have taken a toll on his achievements the last two years.
